Baked with
love & flour

Every morning at Helen's, ovens fire up before dawn — turning simple ingredients into the kind of bread, pastry, and comfort food that makes Alto feel like home.

Not a chain.
Just Helen.

Helen's Kitchen & Bakery started as a weekend pop-up at the Kent County farmers' market — a folding table, a recipe box, and a conviction that good food should taste like someone made it for you.

Three years and one small storefront later, we're still baking the same way: early, by hand, and with ingredients we can name. Our sourdough starter is older than our youngest customer. Our coffee is roasted locally. Our recipes haven't changed — and probably won't.

This isn't a franchise. It's a neighborhood kitchen with a front door that's always open.

Locally Sourced Milk from Kent County farms, eggs from free-range coops nearby.
Made Daily Everything bakes fresh each morning — we never serve yesterday.
Community First We sponsor Little League, host open mics, and know our regulars by name.
